SUMMER IN THE VILLAGE

About AMP

AMP is a high-energy, 10-week summer experience designed for rising 9th grade students in Davenport. Hosted by The Lincoln Center, AMP empowers youth through hands-on workshops, field trips, and mentorship focused on building real-world skills, leadership, and confidence.

From video production and tech to cooking, career exploration, and creative arts, students engage in weekly specialty sessions led by community professionals. Fridays are reserved for exciting field trips that connect students to colleges, careers, and the wider Quad Cities community.

AMP helps students get plugged in, stay charged, and power up for their future—so they’re ready to thrive in high school and beyond.

AMP FAQs

  • AMP runs from June 9 to August 16, 2025, with sessions Monday through Thursday from 12 PM to 5 PM, plus Field Trip Fridays each week.

The Lincoln Center is a free summer meal site, providing lunch to all children ages 1–18 through the Davenport Community School District.

Each student will receive transportation at least one day per week, and a schedule will be shared after all students are registered.

The final day of the program is August 16, which will feature a Student Showcase at the Back2School Block Party, highlighting the projects and accomplishments of all AMP participants.

  • AMP is a partnership between TMBC and the Davenport Community School District. To be eligible, students must currently be in 8th grade and enrolled in a Davenport Community School District school.

Participation in AMP requires students to attend the program at least once per week and take part in scheduled field trips. All students are also expected to participate in the Student Showcase on August 16 during the Back2School Block Party.

Registration is free and limited to 50 students. Early registration is strongly encouraged to secure a spot in the program.

  • Each week, students in AMP will take part in fun and hands-on activities that help them explore their interests and get ready for high school and life beyond. Activities include video and music production, podcasting, coding and robotics, poetry, dance, and fashion design, cooking and life skills, career and college exploration, and leadership development.

Students will also go on weekly field trips to places like colleges, businesses, museums, and community sites. Along the way, they’ll build confidence, learn new skills, and connect with mentors and friends.

The goal of AMP is to help students discover what they love, prepare for high school, and grow into strong, community-ready leaders.
